Six Ways to Seal & Protect

The Tray Sealer is engineered for simple, fast tray closure using a flexible lidding film. It is highly adaptable based on your product's preservation needs:

  • Sealing Only: This standard mode provides a quick closure, making it ideal for products where no atmosphere control is needed.
  • N₂ Flushing (No Vacuum): With an optional gas mixer, the machine purges the tray headspace with nitrogen and CO₂ before sealing. This pushes out oxygen, providing excellent protection for oxidation-sensitive products like bakery items and namkeens.
  • Note on Delicate Items: For products like Indian Sweets that require a complete vacuum to remove all oxygen, our MAP machines are the recommended solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Tray MAP Machines

What is a Travac Tray Sealer used for?
It seals pre-formed trays with a flexible lidding film for retail packs such as mithai, cut fruits, paneer, and meat portions, with or without gas flushing.
How is the seal actually formed?
A precision pneumatically actuated seal head presses and heat-seals the lidding film to the tray flange, with adjustable seal time, temperature, and pressure for different film and tray materials.
What's the difference between sealing only, and N₂ flushing on this machine?
Sealing only simply closes the pack with no atmosphere change. N₂ flushing displaces air with nitrogen without pulling a vacuum first.
How fast does it run?
6–8 cycles per minute, with standard formats rated at 300–350 kg/hr and 450–600 kg/hr depending on tray size and count.
How quickly can mould formats be changed?
Travac’s quick-change mould design allows format changeovers in under 10 minutes — no special tools required. This makes it ideal for production lines handling multiple SKUs or tray sizes.
What optional accessories are available?
A gas mixer for blending N₂/CO₂, a gas analyzer to verify headspace gas composition in packed trays, a printed film registration (Eye Mark) sensor, and a compressor with air dryer.
What is it built from, and why does that matter?
All SS 304 structure — corrosion-resistant and washdown-durable, built to hold up under daily cleaning in food production environments.
